The Lord be with you as you study.
Hell will be destroyed. (Rev. 20)
Hell is obviously temporary, but don’t tell that to the proponents of the doctrine of hell, which deny that destruction (to perish) is God’s ultimate punishment for the damned. Rather, many church-goers are told that the damned never perish, and go on living without end in misery.
This doctrine of unending conscious torment is propped up with scripture passages taken out of context. These passages at first glance may seem to make the annihilation of the damned look impossible, but look closely. Here are 20+ passages that people have tried (and failed) to use as refutation of the scriptural understanding of the utter destruction of the damned.
1) Matthew 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Question: How can the unsaved weep if they no longer exist?
Answer: They weep on the way to destruction.
Have you seen a kid weep and gnash his/her teeth when a parent takes away xbox privileges? Multiply that by a thousand and you will glimpse the childish agony of the spoiled brats who cannot be thankful for the existence that they were given, as they wail when existence is taken from them.
2) Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Question: How can the unsaved bow before Christ if they no longer exist?
Answer: They cannot, and neither do they need to. Those that are annihilated will surely bow down … and shortly thereafter they will be destroyed.
3) Mat. 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
Question: How can the condition of the damned be worse than before they were born if he no longer exist?
Answer: Is it really better to live a life with your will set in rebellion against God than to not ever exist. Has anyone ever made a case for the benefits of a life spent scattering away from Him rather than gathering to Him?
Lets play basketball and I’ll run around with the ball while you and others attempt to play by the rules. I’ll just make a mockery of it and keep drop-kicking the ball until it is warped and laugh the whole time, injuring half the other players on the court and you tell me it is better for me to have played that way, than if I had not played at all.
4) Isaiah 33:14The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
Question: How can the damned dwell with devouring fire and everlasting burnings if they no longer exist?
Answer: That passage in Isaiah used a rhetorical question. It is like saying: “Who can ride the bus without a pass?” The reader is to come to the obvious conclusion that it is impossible to ride the bus without a pass.
IOW, it is impossible to live / dwell in devouring fire. That is what Isaiah 33:14 is saying.
This question unwittingly misuses a passage in which the only comprehension of its meaning is in support of annihilation.
5) Isaiah 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
Question: How can the damned be an abhorring to all flesh if they no longer exist?
Answer: This straw-man question is a complete distortion of the verse.
Observation #A – CARCASSES are never living. ALL carcasses lack life otherwise they are NOT carcasses. Hence this is a primary passage against the unbiblical doctrine of unending conscious torment.
Observation #B – no carcass has the wherewithal to sustain a worm that keeps eating it without ever turning away from it. The obvious conclusion of the passage is that not only are the wicked dead, but they are eaten away to nothing by a worm that never turns away from them
Observation #C – no carcass that is burned with an unquenchable fire can outlast the fire … rather the fire burns away the carcasses over time, since time is no object to an unquenchable fire. So not only are they dead, and eaten away to nothing with worms, but any chance that there could be anything left will be burned away by an unquenchable fire. … no unending torment.
Observation #D – Any part of mankind that sees this will surely look upon it as an abhorrence … which means that all of mankind (that remains … ie. exists) abhors the death and destruction of those that are no longer part of mankind.
6) I Corinthians 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
Question: How can the enemies of Christ be under His feet if they no longer exist?
Answer: “Under His feet” does NOT imply a living state of existence. “Under His feet” is a phrase that invariably means subjection submission, and conquered …
Is a dead foe, not also a conquered foe? When we (the allied forces) put Nazi Germany under our feet were they all remaining alive?
7) Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Question: How can the unsaved be beaten with stripes if they no longer exist?
Answer: Annihilationism (ie, the doctrine that includes John 3:16 in a literal sense – “perish”) takes into account that there will be punishment and retribution … culminating in utter destruction.
So if someone is “beaten” and later will “perish” – these are not mutually exclusive notions … one can experience both.
8) Rev. 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Question: How can the unsaved be without the city if they no longer exist?
Answer: The city represents existence itself … true existence which is the realm in which God dwells. To be apart from the City of God is to be apart / away from existence.
Annihilationism requires that God’s enemies be beyond the walls of the city, so it is no surprise to see it in scripture.
9) Psalm 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Question: How can Christ give the heathen for an inheritance if they no longer exist?
Answer: This implies a false extrapolation of the meaning “heathen” to mean those that are under God’s wrath during judgment. Rather, this is talking about the heathen nations / gentiles that God offered the nation of Israel. The plunder here is the cities and property of the gentile nations within the physical realm at that time. The souls of men belong to the Lord who can (and will) destroy not only the body but the soul of men who reject Eternal Life found only through Jesus. (Mt 10:28 )
10) Isaiah 14:2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
Question: How can the believers posses the heathen, if the heathen no longer exist?
Answer: This passage is OBVIOUSLY talking about the living human gentiles that will be possessed as property. It is not talking about the eternal disposition of their souls given away by God. God has not given the destiny of human soul away to anyone ever. One wonders, is the argument that there are personal slaves traded and owned in New Jerusalem?!?!
11) Eze. 22:21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
Question: How can the damned know that the Lord poured our His wrath on them if they no longer exist?
Answer: The Lord poured out wrath on Sodom and Gomorrah. Both cities were turned to ashes. WHO in their right mind would make a case that the people who dwelled therein do not know that the Lord poured out His fury on them. I assure you that is an accurate figure of speech.
While we are on the subject … the Bible makes Sodom and Gomorrah as examples of eternal judgment and notice that nobody was endlessly tormented in either city … rather they were all destroyed without languishing in agony.
and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter;
just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
12) Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Question: How can the damned be in torments if they no longer exist? How can the damned converse with The Father if they no longer exist?
Answer: The passage in Luke 16 is a parable.
Just a parable, not a thesis on the afterlife, but an illustration that is useful instruction in this life on how to live.
You missed the point if you think the parable was Jesus’ trick to contradict what He said elsewhere about destruction of the soul … and perishing without His life.
HERE is a video explaining the parable.
13) Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Question: How can the torment of the damned yield smoke if they no longer exist?
Answer: The wrong question is asked.
Here is the right question:
How can they yield smoke if they are living?
Living tissue gives off water vapor and steam when burned.
Dead tissue gives off smoke.
14) Luke 13:26-28 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
Question: How can someone who no longer exists see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and themselves thrust out?
Answer: The ruse in this question is the omission of the next verse where the damned are actually sentenced by being excluded from eternal life.
In other words, this is the conversation that the Lord has with the damned before their damnation begins … and the punishment is exclusion from eternal life … ie. to not go on living for ever and ever.
15) Matthew 25:44-45 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Question: How can the damned converse with The Son if they no longer exist?
Answer: They talk during judgment, then they shut up when they experience second death. Of course, they are dead by then so …
All you need to do is read the next verse.
16) Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Rev. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Question: How can the damned have the same fate of being tormented day and night for ever and ever as the devil and his angels if the damned no longer exist?
Answer: Forever and ever comes to a conclusion at the second death. Forever and ever is not “eternity” … Rather, it just means “for the ever” … or as long as time exists. After the “last day,” time is no more, and forever and ever is also no more.
Just as there was a first day (before which was nothing except the the Great I AM) there will be a last day (after which there will be nothing except the Lord God and those who are ONE with Him.) Thus, we must be born a second time unto eternal life, or perish with the rest of creation when “heaven and earth disappear.”
The realm of existence called “New Jerusalem” has neither day nor night. They don’t exist. So how can someone still be tormented “day and night” at this point?
17) Matt. 5:26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
Question: What are the unsaved not to come out from if they no longer exist?
Answer: This is another one, like before that is a parable about how to live in this life. It is not a thesis on what the afterlife is like.
Besides it says in very explicit language that there is “by no means” any “coming out from.”
18) Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Question: If the non-elect were annihilated, why does God say they will have no rest?
Answer: Eternity is denied the damned. They may get day and night, but not Eternity … and alot of good that will do them on the LAST day.
When we enter the eternal state, we do not enter a place that has day or night.
Rev. 21:25 “… In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; “
19) Luke 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Question: Why does God command us to fear Him (and not man) IF all that God will do is ultimately cause cessation of life (which is all that man can do anyway)?
Answer: Matthew’s version of this teaching contains information that is missing in the question. Specifically, Matthew includes what God will ultimately do that is far more than any man can do …
Matt 10:28 “Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
20) Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Question: why are the unsaved to fear being cast into hell, if hell is no more than just a cessation of life? Aren’t there those who voluntarily cause their own life to cease? And don’t they wish that that is all that will come of it, and nothing more?
Answer: Aside from the answer given for 19 above … The drive to keep one’s self alive is one of the strongest drives that each of us have. Avoiding second death is a strong motivation … strong enough, in fact, that those who choose against Eternal life through Christ Jesus the Lord, will have done so whether they go off to cessation of life or life of perpetual torment. However, they do not go off to perpetual torment, as scripture reveals. They go off to destruction.
Matt 7:13“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.”
Here are some bonus reasons
And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire.
… And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell.
… And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell,48 ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’
Question: Why would it be better to live in this life without a hand, foot, or eye (conscious pain) than to have one’s existence cease (unconscious of any pain)?
Answer: Aside from the questioner making “the avoidance of pain” being the apparent goal to life, there are important parallels that the Lord’s teaching makes worthy of pointing out.
When you gouge out your eye it is dead and useless for vision … the thrown off part of your body does not continue to live. Same when you cut off your arm. The arm ceases to feel anything and will not languish in agony. It is cut off and no longer a part of the living.
Jesus uses this as a comparison to the second death … which likewise is not a continuance of living nor a continuance of sensing pain, but a complete cessation of being alert and alive.
The scripture could only be a support for the doctrine of unending conscious torment if instead of how Jesus taught, He said something like rub your eye till it bleeds and swells shut if it offends you, and put burning needles in the skin of your hand if it offends you. But that is not what He taught, is it?… He doesn’t say to torment your body parts, but instead to cut them off and remove them from ever feeling anything good or bad ever again.
by Trent (originally posted on March 1, 2006)
My problem is a matter of perspective, yet is sufficient to give me pause in agreeing with any Statement of Faith that promotes the idea of damnation as unending conscious punishment. Primarily, it is against the flattering (and consistent with New Age,) and unbiblical philosophy of the “universally eternal” human soul. I believe that the way that most Christians talk about this aspect of their faith leaves room for a perspective that goes against the whole of scripture.
For example, people mistake ‘unending conscious punishment’ when in they quote from the passage of Matthew 25:41-46. Yet that passage calls it ‘eternal punishment’ (which is a huge difference.) This shift of words leaves room for the positing of “eternal life” even to the damned. Let me explain:
There is coming a “last day” as it is written, in which “heaven and earth will pass away” or “be destroyed.” The point is that the punishment is beyond the duration of those punished. It is like a man given 5 consecutive life sentences … we are smarter then to think that such a man will automatically live five times as long then before his sentence. Rather, we intuitively know that he will not last until the duration of the sentence. So, when I read that there will be an “eternal punishment” for the damned, I do not believe that the damned have the eternal life needed to last in a perpetual conscious state nor withstand the fire longer then anything else in creation. Nor do I think God so cruel as to torment them until the time of breaking, and then waken the faint and mend their wounds so that He could torment them again, and once they break from that torment to bandage again and awaken them again just so that He could torment them some more. Surely, this is not consistent with any of scripture, yet that is the implication of saying that they will “suffer everlasting **conscious** punishment.” Nor is it logical to say that those that LACK eternal life, will somehow be able to live eternally!?!?
This is also typified when people use Mark 9:43-48 as support for the conscious torture notion – ” ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.” Is this Jesus’ way of saying that everyone in hell is indestructible? Of course not, He is saying that the Fire is indestructible, NOT those thrown into it … Likewise it is the worm that does not turn, not those subject to the worm that supposedly have enough substance to satisfy a worm that does not turn for ages and ages endlessly having enough to feed a worm that does not turn. That is not only counter to logic, but it is counter to what Jesus just said right before: “hell, where the fire never goes out.” (verse 43) Furthermore, Jesus was quoting Isaiah 66: 24 which depicts looking upon the lifeless (dead) corpses of the damned as the worm does not turn.
The errors of hell-dogma is also perpetuated by the mistranslation of this support passage: 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 “They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power.” Let me explain:
For example, we have a monument called the “eternal flame.” It isn’t really eternal, but for argument’s sake, lets say that it really is. Now, if I take a blade of grass and put it in the fire, does the blade of grass become eternal or is it destroyed?
This is quite obvious. The eternal fire does not make everything eternal that is exposed to it … Rather the eternal fire destroys everything that is not likewise eternal.
Hence, when one reads in scripture about everlasting destruction, one should not assume that whatever is destroyed becomes everlasting. That would be illogical and counter-intuitive. However, that is exactly what Christians are saying when they talk about unending conscious torture.
Essentially, I gather that a prevelent myth is saying that every soul is indestructible / immortal and has everlasting life … even those in the Eternal Fire subjected to the damnation. HOWEVER, immortality and everlasting life is a promise of the Gospel. What an empty offer that would be if everyone already had that! Christ’s accomplishment on Calvary would have been in vain.
“Fear the One that can destroy your soul.”- Jesus, speaking of the Father.
“Fear the One that would torment you til you pass-out, and then awaken you for more torment until you pass out, and on and on without an end. He couldn’t destroy an immortal everlasting soul of the damned even if He tried.” – Christians, while talking about the Father.
See the difference?
Lets look for “hell”…
*Lets see if we can find “hell” in The Complete Jewish Bible:
James 2:18 –
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:20 –
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:26 –
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
James 1:22 –
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!‘ 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Should not all we do reflect YahuShua (Jesus) in us… walking as He walked… and doing as He did?
If we don’t, is He really in us??
If He is in us, will He not bring forth through us the same works, even as He did through His own body 2000 years ago?!
Are we not His Body…even His Hands and Feet?!
And what did He do?… Did He keep the Moral Law(10 Commandments) both in word and in DEED?… Loving the Father with all the heart and all the mind and all the strength (commands 1-4) and did He love His neighbor as Himself(commands 5-10)? Did He do this by action or was He just a hearer, only, of the Word He received from God?
Why are Christians just sitting there on their hands?!
The Scriptures above make it clear that we do not just ‘abide’ but we stand up and walk even as He walked, denying ourselves and picking up our crosses and following after Him.
STOP SAYING YOU CAN DO NOTHING, BUT ABIDE! This is the slothful and wicked servant who took what his Master gave him and buried it!
I tell you this even weeping… He does not know you!!! And neither do you have any love for God in your hearts!
You have put Him in a box you yourself constructed, and made yourselves lord in His stead!
For this is what the Lord requires:
Mic 6:8 –
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
11/28/07 From The Lord, Our God and Savior – The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy, For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
Son of men, prophesy; prophesy and speak against your nation all My words… Timothy, lift up your voice and prophesy! Give unto them My word, even to all the churches of men contained within its borders; speak My words against them, even in all manner of speaking and devices, says The Lord.
Hear the Word of The Lord!…
Thus says The Lord: O nation, once called of itself “under God”, you have raised yourselves above Me… You shall be brought VERY low! And because you have said within yourselves, even aloud, saying, “We are not under God, nor do we serve any god. Right is wrong, and wrong is right and the right of the individual.” Therefore, because you have spoken in such a manner, you shall surely come to know God!
You shall come to know Me in My anger!…
I shall show you what is right,
And I, even I, shall cause you to discern!…
And you shall choose! Says The Lord.
Behold! The Sword has come! And under God shall you be placed, once again! Yet not as at the first when you blessed My name, no, not as at the first… But in subjection, in recompense, under God in punishment, in retribution, in correction, in discipline, under the shadow of My judgment!… Under God, My footstool!… Then shall you know and remember, I AM THE LORD!
O mighty nation, cease from your adulteries and return to Me…
For I had blessed you;
I had bestowed upon you great abundance…
Yet now you have gone out to pervert your way
And desecrate all I have given you…
Hardening your hearts, forsaking the poor,
Turning your faces away from the afflicted.
You have become a harlot, an adulterous woman,
Perverting her way among many lovers…
Return! Says The Lord…
Return to Me.
Churches and servants, hear the Word of The Lord!…
Thus says The Lord God, The Holy One of Israel: Arise and speak! Servants, stand up and blow the trumpet! Raise an alarm!…
O mighty nation, your time has come! It is here, it has come! Judgment shall reign!… It is here, it has come!… Oh how the mighty have fallen, oh how the stout-hearted are undone! Sons of men, look on what you have done! Look on all you have wrought in My name! Even My own beloved have turned from Me and pervert their way among all these witnesses, dividing My Word to their own gain, uplifting and exalting themselves by the power of MY Word!… Segregation! A great perversion of speech among all these called of themselves by The Christ’s name, polluting the name of My Son, The Holy One, whose name is one with The Father!
Churches of men, built up and named among yourselves, by yourselves, to your own glory…You are undone and cast off as an abominable seed, sprouting and growing where I, Myself, have not planted you! Growing and spreading, shooting forth all kinds of branches, of which I have not pruned nor watered!… Neither do you grow from The Vine.
Behold, even now you continue to grow, becoming as the vine of the earth, spreading forth all your abominations throughout the land, making them desolate, putting down roots wheresoever you list, consuming all water and rich soil… Degradation!
O abominable vine, you grow in the sand…
The shifting sands of religion!…
A dry root, with many broken and entangled branches,
Choked by all these doctrines…
The perverse doctrines of men!
You are left desolate, undone and estranged, receiving neither the early nor latter rains, living in the midst of a land who has forsaken Me! For they have turned their backs on Me and run greedily into their own destruction!… And you, O churches of men, have failed to blow the trumpet! For you are divided, continually dividing yourselves amongst yourselves! The upholding of pride, the putting on of all filthy robes of arrogance!… Darkness of faces.
Churches of men, your land and nation stinks; a foul stench has come up into My nostrils. Yet there you sit upon all your thrones, saying, “We alone are righteous. We alone serve God and shall be sheltered in the Day of The Lord”… WOE TO YOU, O CHURCHES OF MEN! Hypocrites! As you have divided yourselves, so shall I, even I, divide you in judgment! As sheep from the goats, so shall you be divided!
Churches of men, I shall sift you and you shall be shaken!…
Until all your walls have crumbled,
And all your tall towers have fallen down, with a great crash!
No partition shall be left standing! All this enmity shall be stripped away!… And I shall again make you one, says The Lord. No more shall your diviners sing to you of peace and tranquility. No more shall you come before Me, arrayed in purple and scarlet robes, touting your expensive garments, tinkling as you go with all your shining ornaments… Your visage is detestable to Me!
Your shepherds teach lies, your diviners of peace and prosperity, divinations from their own imaginations, brought forth from their own hearts, led astray by seducing spirits!… And oh how your flocks love to have it so… Shall I not recompense you for all these things?! Shall I not correct and discipline you for all these things?!
Churches of men, why do you sit still, growing fat, consuming all these doctrines made by human hands?!… Stand up or bow down! Shout to your nation or bow down! Fall on your faces! Says The Lord. Rent your clothes, howl and wail! Put on sackcloth, cover your heads with dust and ashes!… REPENT! Take up a lamentation! Sound the trumpet to your kindred and countrymen! Stop hiding in your houses you call by My name! I DO NOT DWELL THERE!… COME OUT! COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM!
You were to be an example preparing My way before Me, a beacon on a hill, watchmen blowing the trumpet. Yet what do I hear, O sons and daughters of men within the churches?… Faint murmuring, gossiping, backbiting, accusations, lies, corruptions, envies, strifes, laughing, babbling, seditions, vanities… Vexation of spirit!
For you are neither cold nor hot!… Oh how I wish you were one or the other!…
Therefore, because you have become as lukewarm water,
Even now becoming stagnant and rank,
Behold I shall spit you from My mouth
And bring upon your land a dark storm!
For your land has done great evil in My sight!… And you, O churches of men, have held fast to the veil, pulling it down over your faces! Yet from among you I have already taken many, even a multitude who stand without. And these I have anointed and set in their places. They have received of Me and grow vigorously from The Vine, having been pruned and watered by My own hand. These shall be as fire, for they burn from within, having My own fire within them. I shall stoke them and cause them to burn bright, and they shall go for Me… Lo, they shall blow the trumpet! They shall sound the alarm! They shall serve to you all My fierce rebukes! Behold! They shall serve it to you hot, and you shall be burned!
Churches of men, I shall tear you down, even all you have built! I shall sift you and stir you up! Says The Lord. For if I do not serve to you correction and discipline, assuredly, I say to you, you shall never enter into My rest. You say you know Me and have received of My Son, Jesus The Christ, Yeshua The Gift and Messiah, even saying that you yourselves are anointed…Woe, I say to you! Lie not to yourselves! For you carry lamps with no oil; neither do you have any love for God in your hearts! For if you really knew Me, and lived in My Son, you would do what He did.
Beloved, awake! Awake out of your sleep! Be shaken out of your slumber! Arise and serve your God!… Repent and receive of Me, even of The Holy One, whom you call Christ. Stop stifling My Spirit! Stop persecuting all those I send to you in My own name!… Ears open, My people! The time has come! Lo, it is here!
Look! Your nation destroys the innocent on every side! Fornications and abominations fill the streets! These things are not hidden!… My people, what has happened to your hearts?! You are all as dead corpses!… AWAKE AND LIVE! Says The Lord of Hosts.
Cast off all these riches and sell everything you have built up with MY money, and give it to the poor and the needy. Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked. Embrace the fatherless and the widow, shelter the stranger and the homeless, tend to the sick and visit those in prison… Execute true judgment! Stop judging amongst yourselves, of yourselves, according to your own corrupt knowledge!… Perceive rightly and be stirred up!
Churches of men, why has anger not come up into your faces?! Where is your outrage?! Can you not see?!… Look! They are murdering My innocent! They destroy and tear My most precious gifts to men and women, without ceasing!… Where are your tears?! I hear no wailing at all!… CALAMITY! TRAGEDY!… Abominations swell! Sodom and Gomorrah are revived and thrive before your faces! Beloved, sin and violence spread forth in every direction, overflowing your nation as a flood!
Sons and daughters of men within the churches, what has happened to you?! Do you even know My name?! You have forgotten Me and hide your faces! You stop your ears from hearing!… I no longer know you! For whatsoever you do or do not, to the least of these, most assuredly I say to you, YOU HAVE DONE IT TO ME! Says The Lord, your Redeemer.
Therefore, stand up and pay attention, lest I destroy you as I destroyed Sodom and overthrew Gomorrah!…
Behold! The riches of men shall be taken from them in a day, and recompense in full shall be dealt to your nation! And not one of your temples shall stand!… All shall be torn down! All shall be brought down!…
And though you had set it on a tall mountain, in the midst of high walls, thick walls built of strong and tempered mortar, it shall be shaken to dust, it shall be thrown down!… Left utterly desolate.
You shall surely be left naked, stripped of all your clothes…
Then I shall remember you…
And you shall establish your trust in The Beloved, once again;
And you shall keep your life, for Love has saved you…
And you shall escape, but as one escaping through the flames.
I am The Lord.
THE OPPOSITE OF LOVE:
Selfish ego is impatient.
Selfish ego is mean.
Selfish ego does not find pleasure in other people’s fortune.
Selfish ego does not humble themselves, and is full of pride.
Selfish ego does not seek the good for others.
Selfish ego looses its temper.
Selfish ego tracks and remembers others mistakes.
Selfish ego isn’t happy about holiness, but rejoices with evil.
Selfish ego is reckless, always suspicious, always defeated, and always gives up on others.
Selfish ego never pulls through.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13
The love of man is born from the desires of the flesh and comes forth from a place of longing,
to fill a void which remains empty; affections built upon conditions and unrealistic expectations,
learned in a world without natural affection… Corrupt.
Yet My love is a light which shines in a dark place, warmth which brings peace and healing
to those whose hearts have grown cold; a cup overflowing, never-ending; affection in its
purest form… Unconditional, says The Lord.
Therefore come to Me, beloved,
That our hearts may be satisfied!…
For all those who sincerely long for Me
Shall surely receive of Me;
And all those who obey My voice
Shall surely walk beside Me;
And all those who love Me, above all else,
Shall know the depths of My Mercy…
For I shall take them,
And they shall dwell with Me, where I am,
In the Kingdom of My joy, forever…
Says The Lord.
1John 2:3 –
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
1John 2:4 –
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1John 3:22 –
And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
1John 3:24 –
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
1John 5:2 –
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
1John 5:3 –
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
2John 1:6 –
This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
Revelation 12:17 –
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12 –
Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 22:14 –
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Romans 7:12 –
Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.
Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.
Romans 8:4 –
that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Answer: It is clear that all these above spoke by the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit clearly would tell us to obey the Moral Law of the Ten Commandments. And that the saints are recognized by this and by having TRULY received of Messiah and the Spirit whereby they obey the Law, also Testifying of YahuShua (Jesus) The Messiah and of His saving Grace. (Rev.14:12)
THEREFORE, THUS SAYS THE LORD:
3/22/08 From The Lord, Our God and Savior – The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy, For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear (Regarding those who say The Holy Spirit would never tell you to obey The Moral Law, The Ten Commandments)
Timothy, concerning these perverse disputings which plague your mind, why do you let it be so? Yet I shall speak for the sake of My elect, the tame and the untamed, the humble and the unrefined, of which both shall enter into My rest at the Last Day.
This sin is grievous, and should not be spoken of, nor uttered in such a manner. Yet they have proclaimed it, even with complete ignorance of the Truth; yes, they testify, even of their own guilt, failing to see the folly of their ways.
Thus says The Lord to these void churches, to all these lawless people: YOU SHALL NOT BLASPHEME THE HOLY SPIRIT! I DO NOT KNOW YOU! Shall anyone who proclaims My name and The Free Gift, then go and pervert it before many witnesses as a show, proclaiming their own righteousness before men?… I AM THE LORD! I AM THE LORD, YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS!
How is it then, you come before Me, even taking to yourselves My name, saying, “The Lord dwells within us, and by the power of His Spirit we walk in His ways”… YOU HAVE SURELY TESTIFIED FALSELY! You have turned aside after satan and blasphemed My holy name, even on the highest order! For you stand firm for that which I abhor, asserting that The Spirit of The Most Holy would never say to obey The Moral Law of The Father, which is holy, just and good.
Yet you continue in your perverse speech, speaking against that which is fulfilled and upheld in Myself… Against that which I have magnified, in Myself!… Polluting the holy and that part of Myself which I have shared with My beloved, desecrating that which I have written upon their hearts, even in their innermost parts, which ALL shall live by!… Blasphemy! Desecration! Great folly! You have perverted Grace, making The Author of Life into the author of sin!
Foolish children! Corrupt vessels!…
Shall The Father of Lights send down His Holy Spirit,
Even to a great outpouring on all flesh,
Only to have it then stand against Him?!…
The Lord can not, nor ever shall,
Be divided against Himself!
Therefore Timothy, and all who have received ears to hear, you already know by which spirit they speak, for it is already named, and is present in the world even now. For it is written, even as I had spoken it through My servant, and was brought forth by the Holy Spirit, “Now the Spirit expressly says, that in the latter days some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons”… Of which these spirits are called and named, the spirit of antichrist.
Shall I not give correction?! Shall I not discipline?! Shall I, even I, reward any who speak such things?! Have they not incited rebellion against The Lord?!… Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their consciences seared with, as it were, a hot iron?! For they, in vain, seek to honor Me with their lips, while at the same time keeping their hearts far from Me. For they do dishonor Me, even that part of Myself which I have poured out, of which they have yet to receive…
Beloved, who call of yourselves by My own name, receive of Me! Know you not, The Holy Spirit is of Me, also causing you to remember even all I have taught you?! How then can The Spirit speak contrary to Me?! Return to Me, even as a child, and assuredly I say to you, you will enter into My rest and escape all these things which are coming upon the earth. Forbear, and stand tall with a stretched-out neck, and you shall surely be abased… A great humbling in the Day of The Lord.
Thus says The Lord: This is how you shall know the children of God: They keep The Commandments and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. For if one comes and has The Testimony, yet seeks not to keep The Commandments of God, he is a liar and has not received; and if one comes, saying, “Keep The Commandments”, yet has not the testimony of Jesus Christ, this one also shall be found a liar. They do not know Me, nor did I send them, for The Son does not dwell within them; neither do they have any love for God in their hearts…Unprofitable servants lacking wisdom, abiding not in the love of The Father.
Their faith is useless. For the knowledge of God has departed from them, whereby they have come to feast upon all these bitter and perverse doctrines of men in authority… Refusing The True Bread, even The Word of My mouth by which all men shall live. They shall be taken and cast into darkness. For I tell you the truth, the time shall surely pass and the door shall be shut, leaving them standing outside, where they shall then look upon all they had built up in their arrogance, considering that upon which they sat in their pride, even every doctrine they had upheld in haughtiness, as it crumbles and burns before their very eyes.
Yet The Lord is not without mercy… They shall keep their lives, yet they will escape as one escaping through flames, as it is written. For The Refiner’s fire shall rage even seven times, and there shall be great wailing and gnashing of teeth. And all who call upon the name of The Lord in that Day, even according to the great remnant of which The Lord shall call, shall behold the angels of God ascending and descending upon The Son of Man.
And forsake all these corrupt and evil doctrines
Taught in the churches of men!Go out from among them
And prove that you have truly received,
By new works and pure testimony…
Becoming a true example of Christ in you,
Walking as He walked, doing as He did…
A lampstand, a beacon of hope,
Shining in the midst of all this darkness…
A renewed and refined people for My name, of My name…
In the name of The Son.
Thus as it is written, let it be done, says The Lord.
Question: Are the Letters from God and His Christ an “adding to” the Bible?
Answer: Yes and No. Yes, because they are the Word of the Lord and are in perfect agreement with the Bible, having the very same Author, the Lord Himself. No, because I, myself, have not added to the Bible.
My friends, I do not wish to replace, or take away, or add to the Holy Bible! Rather, these words and this understanding was given to me by the Lord, and is for all those who have ears to hear. He, ALONE, may “add to” His Word for our benefit, and to give us greater understanding.
I hear this question from churches and other Christians frequently. And they use this as an excuse to discount the Letters from God and His Christ. But if their assertion holds true, that no one should “add to” the words of the Bible, then the Bible should have been a very short Book indeed, also making the Lord a hypocrite.
The following verses warn against “adding to” God’s Word:
In order to obey the mitzvot (word) of ADONAI your God which I am giving you, do not add to what I am saying, and do not subtract from it. (Deuteronomy 4:2)
Everything I am commanding you, you are to take care to do. Do not add to it or subtract from it. (Deuteronomy 12:32)
Don’t add anything to His words; or He will rebuke you, and you be found a liar.
I warn everyone hearing the words of the prophecy in this Book that if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues written in this book. (Revelation 22:18)
These verses clearly say NOT to add to God’s Word, yet do not mention not adding to the Bible. If this were true, then the Bible should’ve ended at Deuteronomy 4:2. It is very clear that each consecutive book of the Bible is an “adding to”. Neither did the Israelites interpret these verses as not adding to the Bible, otherwise each consecutive prophet would have been labeled “false”.
Under the incorrect interpretation of the verses above, YahuShua (Jesus) is the most guilty of all, as He both added to the Bible, and took away as He abolished (fulfilled) the laws found in ordinances…Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross (Colossians 2:14).
So then the verses in Deuteronomy, Proverbs and Revelation were speaking of NOT TAMPERING WITH or adding to or taking away, according to man’s understanding, [*or in the purposeful misinterpretation of these verses, to uphold our own way of doing things, holding onto private church doctrines, putting ourselves and our personal wants, doctrines of men], [**above God] and His commands.
* First of all, understand this: No prophecy of Scripture is to be interpreted by an individual on his own; for never has a prophecy come as a result of human willing – on the contrary, people moved by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) spoke a message from God. (2 Peter 1:20-21)
** But the person who has the Spirit can evaluate everything, while no one is in a position to evaluate Him. For who has known the mind of ADONAI? Who will counsel Him? But we have the mind of the Messiah! (1 Corinthians 2:15)
Therefore, to hold onto this idea that no one should “add to” or “take away” from the Bible, according to men, is true.
The Lord, Himself, may add to His own Word
However, the rule of “adding to” and “taking away” does not apply to the Lord, Himself. Otherwise, He would have contradicted His own command every time He sent a prophet to proclaim His Word to the people.
The Lord, ALONE, may add to His Word and the Bible…we may not. Most oftentimes, the Lord spoke to His prophets, who were to proclaim His message to the people, which was then, later, added to the Bible.
…on the contrary, people moved by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) spoke a message from God. (2 Peter 1:21)
And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying… (Isaiah 38:4)
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying…(Jeremiah 1:4)
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying…(Ezekiel 13:1)
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:4)
Saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.” (Revelation 1:11)
The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea…(Hosea 1:1)
The word of the LORD that came to Joel….(Joel 1:1)
Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah…(Jonah 1:1)
The word of the LORD that came to Micah….(Micah 1:1)
The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah…(Zephaniah 1:1)
Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying…(Haggai 1:3)
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying…(Zechariah 6:9)
The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. (Malachi 1:1)
ADONAI, God, does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7)
“But because I, ADONAI, do not change”…(Malachi 3:6)

ADDITIONAL UNDERSTANDING FROM YAHUSHUA’S (Jesus) OWN MOUTH:
TrumpetCallofGodOnline.com, Volume 3, Only One Stands Above Reproach, and His Words are Also Above Reproach… Only Men, and Those Fallen, Stand in Judgment.
10/8/05, From Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. A Letter Given to Timothy, For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear.
Thus says The Lord God: My sons, there are some among you who have endeavored to seat themselves at My table, who yet resist My Word in The Volumes. They long to hear My Word but at the same time refuse it, for they can not bear to hear the truth of My words spoken to this generation, lest they feel conviction deep within. For as it is written so it is, even to this day, “They come to you as people do… They sit before you as though they were My people, and they hear your words, but they do not act upon them. For with their mouths they speak flatteries and for a pretense show much love, yet their hearts pursue their own way. Indeed, you are as a lovely song to them, one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument. For they hear your words, BUT THEY WILL NOT DO THEM.”
Yet My people shall live by faith and walk in that which was given them already. For those who truly know Me pay close attention to My every word, and also give ear and obey that which I speak presently, heeding that which is at hand and given to this generation. For that which I speak at present must be put first; and that which is contained in The Letters of Truth is foremost, and must be brought to the front for all to behold.
Not that this Word is at all superior, neither shall it be considered inferior to My Word found in The Scriptures of Truth. For My Word is My Word… Both are Scripture and Truth. For that which I speak in the hearing of My prophets is written and put forth for the generation in which it is to be received, for all to hear… Foremost… Whether they will hear or whether they will forbear.
And as it was in all times past, where I had spoken by My servants, the prophets, and they in turn both wrote and spoke aloud, saying, “Thus says The Lord”, so it is at this time also, even during the end of this age which is upon you. For that which proceeds from My mouth at present is foremost, and shall not be put second to My Word spoken aforetime; neither is one a foundation for the other, as though the Word proceeding from My own mouth is in need of anything to uphold it; nor is any other witness required to prove My Word as My own, when I Myself have spoken it.
MY WORD STANDS!…
And is easily recognized by those who are Mine
And among those in whom I dwell…
Therefore, let My present Word be shown to be
In full agreement with My former Word…
For it is indeed in perfect agreement with My Word as it was…
Yet runs straight in comparison to that which men have made crooked.
Here is wisdom few have considered, nor have they understood: If one who confesses Me lacks discernment, on account of ears which remain dull in hearing and eyes which remain dim in seeing, let them test My Word by My Word only. For any who test outside My Word, according to the words or doctrines of men, shall fail and be found in contempt before The Lord, for I sit as judge. For you have failed to see that My Word in The Volumes of Truth, also being called The Letters, is also a rod by which the translations of men are to be tested, a light which shines upon the doctrines of men to expose them, revealing them to be blasphemies and heresies before God… All of which shall burn in the Day, when the fire comes to test the quality of each one’s work.
Therefore if one professing faith be wise, he shall humble himself before Me, calling upon the name of The Holy One for knowledge, in where all understanding flows to the truly contrite and penitent, flowing in pure testimony without any shadow of turning or corruption.
And by this only can one be wise in the reading, comparing that which was given with that which is put forth once again, discerning The Source and The Author to be the same… One Word, One Book, One On-going Testament to My Glory… By no means is it to be divided into three, says The Lord.
Behold, My words shall never pass away. For as I am, so also is My Word. For it proceeds from Me, being manifest by He who is True, also being called The Word… Living… Always feeding His flock the Word which is written for their nourishment, which is to be received through that part of Himself which is also in Me, The Spirit called Holy which speaks to the truth of who I am, glorifying He who I sent to you who bears My name and reveals My glory in Himself, even as I am glorified through Him, His glory being the same I own. For We are One from the beginning, yet manifest as two in the earth, so those whom I have chosen may know Me and come to Me and receive life, returning to and being fulfilled in the paradise of God, which is in His Kingdom and His Son.
I AM THE LORD…
And those who have received of Me testify that The Holy One,
Called Christ and Jesus, is The Lord of Heaven and Earth!…
Yes, YahuShua HaMashiach is The Master, to whom all peoples shall bow!…
Even all things shall give Him glory!…
All shall profess YahuShua is YaHuWaH, The Only Faithful and True Witness,
The One King Eternal who is and was and is to come, The Almighty!…
GIVE HIM ALL GLORY!
Therefore Daniel, you shall teach this Sabbath and the next, and a third time as I command you. You shall pray, and make for yourself an outline and follow it; not according to the hearers, but according to The Head which I am. You shall prepare three studies in one accord, three studies containing My Word in The Letters; and from the Volumes only shall you gather knowledge for these three gatherings, with which you shall feed this flock who come to sit at My table on The Lord’s day.
For I have spoken to this generation, and that which I have uttered shall be brought to the head of the table and distributed, as though I Myself were seated there. For I am indeed with you, even in the midst of you, and remain always The Head of My own table. For as it is written, every act of giving in The Beloved bears much fruit; and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from The Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning… I am that Gift! All things are made manifest through Me! And that which bears good fruit is received by those who abide in Me, for I am The Faithful and True Witness.
I am The Lord and I do not change! Therefore, I will do nothing until I have made My plans known to My servants, the prophets, of whom I also call My friends, the very same whom I have set up and shall fully establish in the power of My spirit… My beacons piercing the darkness of the end of this age, My shepherds sent out in the Day of Darkness, My soldiers marching through a day of clouds and thick darkness and heavy sorrows.
Behold, they shall endure and can not be turned aside, for they must continue until their days are fulfilled. Then shall I come in My strength, coming on the clouds of heaven with tremendous power and glory!…
And be shaken by the word of My mouth!… Even the rocks shall cry out, and every living creature
Shall break out with a great noise and give Me glory!…Even the mountains and all high places shall be brought down,
And bow before The King who has come!… For I shall judge in righteousness,
And restore the Kingdom by the power and majesty of My vesture!…
For I am The King of Glory, The Righteous One of God!
A question was asked of me at HisSpace.com (Messianic Jew site) regarding the proper name of YahuShua (Jesus) and God:
Question #1: “Why the Prophetic Word Given Me Does NOT Use PROPER Hebrew Names for Yahweh/Yahuwah and Yahushua(Yeshua)”
Here are my responses:
I am well aware of these things, for Yahweh/Yahuwah has made these things known to me, and I do pray to Yahweh/Yahuwah in Yeshua’s/Yahushua’s name. Yet to most Americans (and the English-speaking countries) this is not known; and so all that I write from Him is spoken and written in such a manner that these who only know Him as “Lord”, Jesus, Christ and God & Father will receive His word and understand. Therefore, they are given the Word in the only way they know it, even as the sincere milk of the Word…the meat of the Word will come later, only after which time they are fully converted in their hearts. Then can they receive of that which was first and without corruption.
But understand this: YahuShua (Jesus) knows His audience and the hearts and minds of men & women, and if such an one calls on His name, by the only name of Mashiach that he knows, which is Jesus Christ, then the Lord knows this and will receive them, knowing that which is in their heart and to Whom they were calling.
In other languages, the Mashiach is called by other names also, each name meaning the same thing (as long as these names are referring to the true Mashiach, Yahushua, and not to false gods, etc.). And because of this, Yahweh/Yahuwah puts no difference between a person calling on His name in English or Hebrew, or in any other language, for the Lord judges according to the heart and not according one’s ignorance.
And so, if those, who endeavored to change Yahweh/Yahuwah’s and Yahushua’s name for the purpose of deception, they have accomplished nothing, neither has Yahweh/Yahuwah given satan any power in this matter. The Lord is a respecter of no persons, nor of the languages they speak. If this were so, then only the Hebrews would be saved and the Gentiles would be lost, because of their ignorance of the Hebrew language. Yet the Gentiles who believe, and are truly converted in their hearts, are saved because of their belief and knowledge of Yahushua, and not according to their knowledge of His name in Hebrew. For Mashiach was lifted up from the earth, so He might draw ALL men to Himself. Amen.
Therefore, as Paul was sent out, likewise am I sent: To the Jews, I speak as a Jew…to the Gentiles, I speak as a Gentile. And the same for the United States; and the same will I do when I go to Africa, as Yahweh/Yahuwah commands.
Blessings to you, in Yahushua, The Mashiach,
Question #2: “If you know all these things why use the [incorrect] name here?”
Yahushua has said, ‘none can come to Me unless the Father first draws them to me.’
And if this same one drawn of Yahweh/Yahuwah comes to me with questions concerning these things, I will teach them the same as you have shown me. For these things have indeed become an offense, yea, even a blasphemy, to certain peoples with knowledge of them…the Lord judge, not I. And so, we should speak and so do, each according to their faith and understanding. But of these without knowledge it is not an offense for they haven’t any knowledge. To the one who knows it is sin to that same one it is sin.
Therefore, be careful not to feed the meat or solid food to the babes when it is only milk they can digest, lest they stumble and the devil come and take that which was sown in their hearts. For as yet, they have no root. When they have grown in the true Vine and have been pruned by the Father, then beginning to bear fruit, then we can teach them so the may grow up in faith in a more perfect way. Yet remember, at ignorance Yahweh/Yahuwah does wink (Acts 17:30). And those who do not speak Hebrew will hear His name in their own language, even according to how and where they grew up…
Also during the ‘Last Week’, once again, will many, by the power of the Holy Spirit, come to hear the Truth in their own languages just as it was in the Apostle’s day, according to God’s will and perfect timing.
Acts 2:6 “When they heard this sound, a crowd gathered; they were confused, because each one heard the believers speaking in his own language. 7 Totally amazed, they asked, “How is this possible? Aren’t all these people who are speaking from the Galil? 8 How is it that we hear them speaking in our native languages? 9 We are Parthians, Medes, Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Y’hudah, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, 10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome; 11 Jews by birth and proselytes; Jews from Crete and from Arabia. . . ! How is it that we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great things God has done?”
Yet brother, do not be confused by my speech and know, I am not surprised in the least at the deceptions of men and satan. For the history Yahweh/Yahuwah’s and Yahushua’s Holy names being replaced with pagan names or derivatives of such is no accident.
This is similar to how the Holy Days have been replaced with and some corrupted with pagan names and practices. i.e. Easter (pagan name and practices) replacing First Fruits and Passover. And Christmas being filled with all kinds of paganism…all in all taking that which is Holy and mixing it with that which is an abomination, breaking the first 3 and 4 and sometimes all the Commandments.
Of the Holy Days I am also to teach and call into remembrance in the honoring of Yahweh/Yahuwah and Yahushua’s fulfillment of them, even unto the preaching against the modern “holidays” of men.
To Yahuwah be all the glory and to the Lamb.
Blessings to you and all your beloved in Yahushua,
Gracehead friends: I have also had this issued from the flip-side come up also in exactly the same way, where a Christian said that you cannot be saved if you use the name, Yeshua or Yahushua. Only the name, Jesus, is the name by which we must be saved….according to the Bible. I responded that Jesus’ name in the original Hebrew was not Jesus, but Yeshua/Yahushua. And that these text came first then the Greek, which translates it “Ioesus” and then later the English, Jesus. However he became very upset and went on to tell me that Yahushua means “hell”. Which is very disturbing…hearing that some people out there actually teach this.
We know this: “…I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and that I will give to each of you what your deeds deserve.” ~ Rev. 2:23
IMPORTANT NOTE: This study also applys to true and false teachers, and *organizations. (*A church/ministry can also be a true or false prophet/teacher depending on what their doctrine says and how they go about preaching that doctrine.)
A. A true prophet leads people to the Bible and to Jesus.
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. ~ 1 Corinthians 14:37
Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision. But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. ~ Acts 26:19-20
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, every man’s work shall be made manifest. For the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. ~ 1 Corinthians 3:10-15
A false prophet speaks lies, leading people away from the Bible and YahuShua (Jesus) .
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of Truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make mechandise of you, whose judgement now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. ~ 2 Peter 2:1-3
And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. ~ Acts 13:6, 8
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. ~ 2 Timothy 4:3-4
One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. ~ Titus 10-14
B. A true prophet confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh.
Hereby ye know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. ~ 1 John 4:2
A false prophet brings in damnable heresies, denying the Lord who bought them, and does not proclaim that YahuShua (Jesus) The Messiah came in the flesh.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. ~ 2 Peter 2:1
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God. And this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world. ~ 1 John 4:3
C. A true prophet seeks to glorify God.
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory. But he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. ~ John 7:18
A false prophet seeks glory for himself.
For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s. ~ Philippians 2:21
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory… ~ John 7:18
D. A true prophet speaks with God’s wisdom given him by the power of God’s spirit.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. ~ 2 Peter 1:21
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. ~ Amos 3:7
A false prophet prophesies by his own wisdom or interpretation of Scripture.
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. ~ 2 Peter 1:20-21
E. A true prophet gives warning, edification1, exhortation2, comfort and correction, as directed by God.
So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at My mouth, and warn them from Me. ~ Ezekiel 33:7
Wherefore will ye plead with Me? Ye all have transgressed against Me, saith the Lord. In vain have I smitten your children, they received no correction. Your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion. ~ Jeremiah 2: 29-30
Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day, I have even sent unto you all My servants, the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them…But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction. Truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth. ~ Jeremiah 7:25, 28
The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence. ~ Jeremiah 28:8
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself, but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied. For greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpet, that the church may receive edifying. ~ 1 Corinthians 14:3-5
1 edify: to instruct and improve especially by good example; benefit morally or spiritually
2 exhortation: earnesty spoken words of urgent advice or warning
A false prophet speaks ONLY of peace and prosperity.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you. They make you vain. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. They say still unto them that despise Me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. ~ Jeremiah 23:16-17
F. A true prophet will show good fruit and will exhibit the fruit of the Spirit.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree can not bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. ~ Matthew 7:16-20
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Against such there is no law. ~ Galatians 5:22-23
False prophets will show evil fruit and will exhibit the corrupt fruit of the devil.
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
G. A true prophet rightly divides the Word of God.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. But shun profane and vain babblings, for they will increase unto more ungodliness. ~ 2 Timothy 2:15-16
A false prophet shares opinions and distorts Scripture.
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest1, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. ~ 2 Peter 3:16
1 wrest – to distort; to divert to an improper or unnatural use
H. A true prophet puts his trust in God.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. ~ Jeremiah 17:7
Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. ~ Isaiah 26:4
For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved. ~ Psalm 21:7
A false prophet puts his trust in men.
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. ~ Jeremiah 17:5
I. A true prophet speaks the true prophecies.
And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come), then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them. ~ Ezekiel 33:33
A false prophet speaks lies and gives false prophecies.
Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the [prophet1], Hear now, Hananiah, the Lord hath not sent thee, but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. ~ Jeremiah 28:15
Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the Lord concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie...~ Jeremiah 29:31
Note: 1prophet – In the Bible, both false and true prophets are called “prophets”. One must read the context of the chapter to understand whether the “prophet” is true or false, such as in Hananiah’s case. Hananiah was a false prophet, but Jeremiah was a true prophet, yet both were called “prophets”.
J. A true prophet does not accept money for God’s words.
Throughout the entire Bible, none of God’s prophets ever required money to deliver God’s messages. The entire Bible is a testament of this.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. ~ 1 Timothy 6:6
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. ~ 1 Timothy 6:8
A false prophet charges, or expects payment, for his words.
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil-surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the Truth, supposing that gain is godliness. From such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.~ 1 Timothy 6:3-10
No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon1. ~ Luke 16:13
And [through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you2], whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. ~ 2 Peter 2:3
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. One of themselves, a prophet of their own… ~ Titus 10-12
1 mammon: an often personified devotion to material possessions; also wealth
2 [in their greed, these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up] – NIV
3 lucre: monetary gain; profit; also money
K. A true prophet is socially unacceptable to the proud and does not conform to people’s expectations.
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are, that no flesh should glory in his presence. ~ 1 Corinthians 1:26-29
A false prophet is socially acceptable and conforms to people’s expectations.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. ~ 2 Timothy 4:3-4
L. True prophets are generally disliked.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. ~ Matthew 5:12
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. ~ James 5:10
False prophets are generally liked.
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets. ~ Luke 6:26
M. There are few true prophets.
Then said Elijah to the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord, but Baal’s prophets are found four hundred and fifty men. ~ 1 Kings 18:22
Note: We are able to discern from 1 Kings 18:22 that while there were many false prophets of Baal and other gods, there was only one prophet, Elijah, of the True God. In the New Testament, we are shown that there will be more prophets as compared to the Old Testament…”To another, faith by the same Spirit; to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, discerning of spirits; to another, diverse kinds of tongues; to another, the interpretation of tongues” [1 Corinthians 12:9-10]. Even though there are more true prophets spoken of in the New Testament, the number will be less than the number of false prophets (see the verses below – the word “many”).
There are many false prophets.
Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table. ~ 1 Kings 18:19
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. ~ Matthew 24:11
Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye that work iniquity. ~ Matthew 7:22-23
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. ~ 1 John 4:1
N. The prophecies of a true prophet will come to pass.
And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come), then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them. ~ Ezekiel 33:33
The predictions of a false prophet will not come to pass.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously. Thou shalt not be afraid of him. ~ Deuteronomy 18:22
Beloved, believe not every spirit,
but try the spirits whether they are of God,
because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
~ 1 John 4:1
YahuShua (Jesus) warns us that in these last times, there would be “wolves” in “sheep’s” clothing (Matthew 7:15). Please remember, when testing the prophets or anyone who claims to be a servant of the Most High God, to use all Scripture, but especially the verses we’ve just noted. We cannot take only one verse of the Bible and judge whether or not someone is true or false. We must look at all the evidence and then decide for ourselves…Scripture is the rod by which we shall measure everything, including the validity of those who claim to be God’s servants.
